Top 3 Fashion Trends at Texas State

Let’s be clear, Texas State pretty much has the most stylish college students in Texas. Reason #1 on why every day is a great day to be a Bobcat.  So this week, I took time out of my busy schedule of practicing the “wobble” and stalking my exes on the internet, to stalk all you Bobcats, and see what everyone is wearing. Using my evil for good, see?  Without further ado, here are my Top 3 trends at Texas State.

Girls:

1.  Michael Kors Handbags- “Couldn't get Michael Kors if you was Michael Kors”. I’d say 1 out of 3 girls on campus have a Michael Kors handbag, they are literally everywhere. Over the past week I have seen over 10 different styles and the letters MK in brown, white, and metallic. Love it or hate it, Michael Kors is in. Get in on it before this trend turns into a fad. Definitely.

2.  Glitter Toms- Bobcats and Glitter! Glitter and Sequined Toms are definitely a hot item to have here at Texas State, it gives casual Fridays a whole new meaning. Glitter Toms paired with Nike shorts, and a loose tee and you’ll be ready to take on the Bobcat hills in style. Also, Texas Ski Ranch has a good variety of Toms to choose from for a decent price. Check them out.

3.  Leopard- Ladies are taking a walk on the wild side and sporting the fun print of leopard. Some girls are making a bold statement by wearing a leopard blouse or cardigan which is very awesome to see! Some are just embellishing their simple outfit with a leopard head piece, shoe, or scarf. I love this trend. I’m contemplating on buying leopard shoes myself, us guys have a wild side too you know?

Guys:

1.  Pastels- Men and pastels, who would have ever thought? I really love this trend, I’ve seen a number of guys rocking the light color and looking ravishing. Target has a sale on pastel t shirts for 9.99... I may have just bought a teal one, or three.

2.  Ray Bans- Ray Bans probably will never fade out, they are a classic! Guys are wearing them with their favorite Texas State shirt and looking like the college version of JFK. My favorite trend.

3.  Khaki pants / shorts- Guys all over campus are wearing Khaki pants and shorts. Pair them with a casual sweatshirt or with a nice button down. The Khaki trend is giving Bobcat males the sophisticated clean look. Who doesn’t like a clean sophisticated male?

After writing this blog post, I learned it is safe to say, “Everything is bigger and shinier at Texas State.” What’s your favorite trend?
